COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Description:
The Basic Technician Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences is a foundational program designed to equip learners with essential knowledge and practical skills in pharmacy practice. The course focuses on the preparation, storage, dispensing, and distribution of pharmaceutical products in accordance with national and international standards.
Students are introduced to subjects such as basic Dispensing, Pharmacology, Diseases and Prevention, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Communication Skills. Emphasis is placed on ethical practice, accuracy in handling medicines, and adherence to professional codes of conduct.
Upon successful completion, graduates are competent to work as pharmaceutical assistants or dispensers under the supervision of registered pharmacists in hospitals, health centers, dispensaries, and community pharmacies. They also qualify to progress to the Ordinary Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
CERTIFICATION
There is no certification for NTA Level 4.
